Key Sights

Copper Horse Statue & Long Walk: Iconic tree-lined path slopes downhill to Windsor Castle, beside the Thames.

Virginia Water Lake: Originally a stream; drained during WWII for security reasons; featured in Harry Potter films.

The Cascade (Waterfall): Constructed from stones from Bagshot Heath, possibly from a Saxon settlement. A stream runs through a glen to the Thames at Chertsey. Nearby is ‘The Robber’s Cave’.

Arrival in Windsor allows optional small group activities: visit the castle (entry extra), stroll along the River Thames, or explore the shopping centre & eateries.

Meeting Point

Location: Clapham Junction Train Station, outside Marks & Spencer

Time: 9:00 am (train departs 9:19 am)

Return: Planned back in London by 7:00 pm (group train ticket required for day)
Food
Bring a snack/lunch for the walk. A pub visit is planned after the hike.
