Day Trip to Bath and Bristol Via Coach
Overview
Explore two of the South West’s most beautiful cities in one fantastic day — Bath and Bristol — with an optional stroll across the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge.
Escape London for the day, meet new people, and enjoy discovering historic streets, scenic river views, and vibrant city life. It certainly beats sitting at home on a Saturday!
Please note: I am your host and organiser, not a tour guide. You are free to explore independently or in small groups with new friends.
About Bath
Bath is a UNESCO World Heritage city, renowned for its elegant Georgian architecture, sweeping crescents, and grand streets. The city has attracted visitors for nearly 2,000 years.
It owes its name to the famous Roman hot springs — the only natural hot springs in the UK. The beautifully preserved Roman Baths remain one of the city’s most popular attractions.
The River Avon flows through the heart of the city, offering stunning views — especially near the famous Pulteney Bridge, which looks magical when illuminated at night.
Bath also offers independent shops, boutiques, cafés, art galleries, and museums including the Jane Austen Centre, Fashion Museum, and more.
Optional activities in Bath:
• Roman Baths visit (group discount may apply depending on numbers)
• Optional City Boat Trip & Walking Tour (£20 additional charge)
About Bristol
Bristol is a vibrant, creative, and green city surrounded by countryside. Located around 120 miles west of London, it is the largest city in the South West.
The city sits on the River Frome and River Avon and is known for its maritime history and innovative spirit.
A highlight is the magnificent Clifton Suspension Bridge, a Grade I listed landmark spanning the Avon Gorge. Opened in 1864, it was built to a design by William Henry Barlow and John Hawkshaw, based on earlier plans by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
Those wishing to join me for a scenic walk across the bridge, please let me know.
