If you have never visited Wales this is the perfect time to join us on a luxury coach trip out of London. Meet new people, make new friends and connect, if you are coming alone not to worry as 99% of us attend our meetups alone, men are always welcome to join us too.

Cardiff is the capital and largest city of Wales. It forms a principal area, officially known as the City and County of Cardiff, and the city is the eleventh-largest in the United Kingdom.

The stunning landscape surrounding Cardiff makes it the perfect destination for cyclists, walkers and lovers of water sports. Cardiff is home to an abundance of historical houses and is widely regarded as being the city with the most castles in the world. Cardiff Castle is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Wales and has stood for nearly 2,000 years.

Surrounded by a lake, the castle seems to rise out of the water with its most impressive element — a tower that leans at an angle greater than the Leaning Tower of Pisa — a much loved and prominent feature.

The Caerphilly Castle dragons have been here for a few years now and the castle is always finding fun ways to present them around the fortress. They are called Dewi and Dwynwen and they are in love. You’ll see them both entwined in an embrace or “cwtch” in Welsh.

Itinerary

08:30 Sharp – Depart London

It’s a fair distance, so our driver will make a short rest stop at a service station en route. Look out for the bridge that crosses the River Severn, as this is the border between England and Wales.

11:45 – Cardiff Sightseeing

On arrival in Cardiff, we meet our local guide who takes us on a panoramic city tour by coach, pointing out the major sights and entertaining us with stories about the city and its people.

12:45 – Cardiff Exploration

After our sightseeing tour, you will have some free time to explore the city by foot. You might want to use this time to see Cardiff Castle, visit the National Museum (where entry is free) or have a leisurely lunch at one of the many restaurants and cafes.

14:30 – Depart Cardiff

We depart Cardiff city centre for Caerphilly Castle.

15:00 – Arrive at Caerphilly Castle

Entrance is included into Caerphilly Castle. Our tour guide will take us through the property to point out some of the main parts and provide interesting commentary on the maintenance and use of Caerphilly Castle through the ages. We will also have some free time to explore the castle on our own.

16:30 – Depart Caerphilly Castle

We depart Caerphilly for our return to London. There will be a comfort stop at a service station en route for drinks, snacks, and to use the WC facilities.

21:00 – Arrive in London

This is our approximate arrival time back in London, subject to traffic conditions.

Meeting Point

Please meet by the coach bays on Tothill St SW1H 9NB which is just 2 minutes walk from St James Park tube station.

Food

Please bring some snacks and sandwiches if you wish, it’s a long trip.

Please note on our return back to London if you are late, you need to phone me. The coach will wait 15 minutes and then leave. If you miss your connection it is your responsibility to get home and pay for any additional travelling fees.

Please note if your not one for taking photos please do not join when we are taking group photos as i will post on the meetup page and social media. One of the reasons why you may have joined this group is because you actually see members having fun and not just photos of images of landmarks. It’s real when you see people in photos. Please do not send me photos via WhatsApp and not expect me not to share photos on meetup.
