Swanage

We’ll visit the Victorian pier in Swanage, which stretches into the southern end of Swanage Bay. This lovely coastal town and civil parish sits on the eastern edge of the Isle of Purbeck and is surrounded by stunning countryside and coastline — a true hiker’s paradise.

Enjoy free time to explore Swanage independently or in small groups. Relax on the sandy beach, browse the local shops, or enjoy food and drinks at one of the many cafés and pubs.

There’s plenty to see and do in this traditional seaside town.

Durdle Door & Lulworth Cove

A must-visit destination along the famous Jurassic Coast, Durdle Door is one of Dorset’s most iconic natural landmarks. The Lulworth Estate is rich in wildlife and home to some of the most scenic coastal views in England.

From the Visitor Centre at Lulworth Cove, you can walk to Durdle Door campsite — approximately 1.3 miles (around 35 minutes).

Whether you enjoy walking, photography, relaxing on the beach, exploring rock pools, or simply admiring breathtaking views, this is a truly special place to experience.

Please Note

• Wear sensible shoes as some ground is uneven.

• Coastal weather can be unpredictable — even on sunny days, sea mist can roll in and temperatures may drop.

• Durdle Door is around half a mile from the road and the path is hilly. Most people manage it comfortably, but if preferred, you can remain at Lulworth Cove where there is plenty to see and do.

Meeting Point

Please meet by the coach bays on Tothill St SW1H 9NB, just a 2-minute walk from St James’s Park Station (one stop after Victoria).

The coach will be located close to Pret A Manger and Costa Coffee.

• 8:00 AM – Depart London promptly (please arrive 15 minutes early)

• 11:00 AM – Approximate arrival in Swanage

• 2:00 PM – Depart Swanage

• 2:30 PM – Approximate arrival at Lulworth Cove & Durdle Door

• 5:30 PM – Depart Dorset

• 8:30 PM – Approximate arrival back in London
