What Is Moulin Rouge! The Musical About?

The book is by John Logan and is based on the 2001 film written by Baz Luhrmann and Craig Pearce. The musical premiered in Boston in 2018, transferred to Broadway in 2019, and has been dazzling West End audiences since 2021.

The story follows Christian, a young poet, and Satine, the sparkling star of the Moulin Rouge. Against a backdrop of breathtaking spectacle and infectious music, their forbidden love story unfolds — celebrating freedom, creativity, and the pursuit of dreams.

Featuring iconic songs such as “Nature Boy” by Nat King Cole and “Raise Your Glass” by Pink, the show blends timeless classics with modern hits for an electrifying theatrical experience.
